Recommended Tank Parameters

  • pH level range: 6.5 to 8.5
  • Temperature range: 65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Water type: kH 12-18; gH 12-18
  • Notes from the owner:
    • With all nerite snails, it's a good idea to make sure the water line in your aquarium isn't too high, as these snails tend to climb up beyond the water line.
    • Nerite snails do not tolerate water with high nitrate levels.
    • Snails are very sensitive to copper, so watch out for copper if you use tap water in your tank. They also need a decent amount of calcium in their water to maintain their shell health, which can be helped by feeding the snails foods rich in calcium (such as kale, spinach, and other greens), by floating a cuttle bone in the water, or by using additives.

Hemigraphis Repandra Green, also known as Green Dragon's Tongue, is a perennial shrub that grows up to 10 inches in height if given the correct care. Its leaves are bright green in color and are rippled, providing an attractive texture in a terrarium-like setup that is comparable to a grassy plant with the potential to sprout small white flowers. This terrarium plant should be grown in bright, indirect light and in a substrate that is well-drained.

Echinodorus grandiflorus - Burhead Spear

his is the largest of the Sword plants and needs to be grown in an open topped aquarium to allow the leaves to reach their maximum height. They prefer the higher end of the temperature range, keeping them at lower temperatures will reduce their growth rate and prevent them from flowering. In Brazil the leaves are dried out and used in herb medicines as they are supposed to relief symptoms of various common complaints.

Alternanthera specie green

Alternanthera Bettzickiana is a popular choice for beginners due to the fact that it's pretty easy to grow. Most red stem plants can prove difficult to get that vibrant red color without providing high CO2 and micronutrients. This plant can stay vibrant red with relative ease but if nutrients and lighting are severely lacking, the leaves can dull out to an orange hue. It prefers high nitrates and high phosphates so dosing fertilizers such as UNS Plant Food will help speed up growth and keep coloration at its best.
